At the entrance of Orchard Hill there are a variety of native trees, e.g., cherry trees that blossom to a bright pink in the spring. The evergreens and tall pines are found around the landscaped walking paths for residents and their friends to take a leisurely walk. The paved pathways around the sitting areas and the apple orchard afford accessibility to the 10 –acre site.
These paths meander around in a fashion that enables residents to take a lengthy brisk walk as well. Very often, you will see residents take their daily half-mile walk after dinner, or may perhaps enjoy the comfortable wicker seating in the screen porch to better appreciate the subtle sounds of nature.

There are three distinct patio areas with perennials and shrubbery, birdbaths, annual plantings, teak furniture and umbrellas in season.

The presence of fruit trees and blueberry bushes provide the Chef with a bounty to create fresh and delicious traditional New England desserts, such as blueberry pie, cobbler and Indian pudding, and apples baked in a myriad of ways. The residents enjoy reminiscing about their childhood as they pick their fruit and have a hand in making their own favorite recipes to share with their fellow residents.
