History of the property
Orchard Hill Assisted Living was built in 1999 and is privately owned by Clifford Hughes, who grew up in Sudbury and is acquainted with many of the residents living at Orchard Hill from the Metro West area. He enjoys reminiscing with the residents at Orchard Hill’s family barbecues or seasonal holiday parties about playing as a child, little league baseball on ”Mr. Jones’s” team or ice skating in “Mrs. Smith’s “ yard. |

Cliff’s vision for Orchard Hill was to create a New England farmhouse mansion complete with wooded and landscaped areas, abundant with perennials, and flowering trees including an apple orchard.
Orchard Hill Assisted Living won the coveted Senior Living Design Award the year it was built. Ever environmentally conscious, Cliff utilized the trees that were cut down in construction for the hardwood floors which gleam in the country kitchen, library, sunroom, and other areas. Of importance to Cliff was to have a number of gathering areas where residents could congregate in ample and generous spaces outside of their own apartments. In fact, more than 50% of the building’s foot print has been designated for such gathering spaces.
Orchard Hill has a variety of fireplaced living areas, enabling the residents to engage and enjoy one another in an intimate and comfortable space. |
